Shipping containers are primarily manufactured in China. When these containers are used only once, they are known as "Single Trip Containers" or "New Builds" in the Australian market. Despite being sold in their newest available condition, Single Trip Containers typically acquire minor damage, such as scratches, scuff marks, and small dents, during their initial voyage. These are considered minor wear and tear and do not affect the structure and integrity of the container

Causes of Damage

The most common causes of one-way shipment damages include:

• Rough handling during loading and unloading: This can lead to collisions between containers or with the crane.
• Insufficient stowage: Improperly secured cargo within the container can shift during the journey, leading to internal damage.
• Weather conditions: Heavy seas, storms, and other extreme weather conditions can severely shake the containers or even cause them to shift on deck.
